Job Summary:   The Staff Augmentation Specialist works side-by-side with the client's caregivers, role modeling and coaching in the implementation of behavior support plans, data collection techniques, de-escalation and management strategies.

MORA provides an array of services: Adult Day Services, Contracted Case Management, Community Supports, over 30 Residential Homes, Respite, Therapeutic Recreation, Training for Guardians & Families, and a Discover Summer Daytime Programming for Youth with Disabilities. Our Metro Crisis Coordination Program (MCCP) offers a safety net of crucial and cost-effective services for adults and children.

Starting Pay Rate:
 $18.50 per hour       
      
 Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Functions in various settings, including but not limited to family homes, group homes, day programs, and foster homes
  • Trains clients, staff, family members, and day program personnel through role modeling and side by side coaching
  • Works with client’s with extremely challenging behaviors, including but not limited to physical aggression, verbal aggression, property destruction, manipulation, sexually inappropriate behavior, elopement and theft
  • Supports to maintain a client’s current placements
  • Supports to assist people in maintaining or returning client to a less restrictive setting
  • Communicates information, observations, and ideas to the MCCP Behavior Outreach Specialists/Case Lead
  • Timely documentation of daily case notes
  • Works harmoniously with and shows respect for employees, supervisors, vendors and clients
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Desirable Qualifications:
  • At least two years of direct care experience supporting persons with intellectual disabilities
  • The ability to engage in physical activities such as non-aversive physical crisis intervention techniques
  • One year of experience with extremely challenging behaviors, including physical aggression
  • One year of experience with individuals with co-curing mental health diagnoses
  • One year of experience training caregivers who work with individuals with intellectual disabilities
  • Previous behavioral support training or experience with de-escalation & management strategies 
  • Flexibility in multiple environments and work hours/times
  • High level of organizational skills and proven ability to work independently
  • Must have knowledge of basic computer skills

Required Qualifications:

  • Must pass Department of Human Services background check and maintain “qualified” status
  • Must not be excluded from working in government health programs by the Office of Inspector General
  • Must have a current valid drivers license and must have insurance as required by state law
  • Must be able to successfully complete company’s physical job demands document
