Job Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) assists in promoting a hygienic environment, healthy lifestyle, and all aspects of healthcare for clients. Provide appropriate support to youth and adults experiencing a mental health crisis while teaching and supporting staff who directly serve the clients on appropriate medical needs and medication management. Prioritize client mental health stability and the transition to a safe living setting.

MORA provides an array of services: Adult Day Services, Contracted Case Management, Community Supports, over 30 Residential Homes, Respite, Therapeutic Recreation, Training for Guardians & Families, and a Discover Summer Daytime Programming for Youth with Disabilities. Our Metro Crisis Coordination Program (MCCP) offers a safety net of crucial and cost-effective services for adults and children.
Hourly Pay Rate: $38.00-$39.00 per hour, DOQ
Schedule: Monday - Friday business hours On-call rotation
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitor clients’ health and mental health concerns
Coordinate medical documentation and health history necessary for crisis home intakes
Provide schedule flexibility for intake meetings, client appointments, and crisis home needs
Communicate individual concerns and changes to overseeing physician and mental health provider
Provide on-call support for crisis home team members as needed.
Participate in mental health and medical appointments
Communicate medical/medication changes to guardian promptly and receive consent when necessary
Monitor psychotropic medication administration and develop individualized protocols for as neededmedication administration
Coordinate hospital discharge, medication changes and follow up treatment. This includes emergencyservice calls and evaluations
Participate in care team meetings and communication to ensure client care consistency
Frequent visits to the crisis home to assess client well being
Communicate with crisis home team any changes, provide training on new client needs or changes
Arrange for routine/emergency medical/dental care and accompany clients, when appropriate
Promote a hygienic environment and healthy lifestyle
Provide needed medical care to clients
Provide medical knowledge to care givers
Promote infection control, accident prevention
Assist in writing reports, forms, and assessments
Assist in writing height and weight records
Train staff in first aid, CPR, medication administration, etc, as assigned
Provide employees with health care instructions
Perform nursing duties as allowed by your state licensure
Provides training in consumer care to new hires and on-going/annual training to all household staff
Ensures adequate supervision of clients
Works harmoniously with and shows respect for employees, supervisors, vendors, and clients
Performs other duties as assigned
Desirable Qualifications:
Must have current Registered Nurse license in state of Minnesota
Work experience or training with mental health of adults and children, Developmental Disabilities, crisis home settings
Computer and word processing skills
Electronic health record utilization
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Required Qualifications:
Must pass Department of Human Services background check and maintain “qualified” status
Must not be excluded from working in government health programs by the Office Of Inspector General
Must be able to successfully complete company’s physical job demands document.
If using own vehicle for company business, must have a current valid driver’s license and must have insurance as required by state law
