Job Summary: The Clinical Trainee to support youth experiencing a mental health crisis at our Richfield and Andover locations. These are group homes in the community where youth live for 90 days and receive crisis stabilization services before transitioning to a long-term living option. This service is designed to support youth in the community instead of them living in a hospital, hotel or detention center. In this role, you will provide support to youth by implementing interventions identified in their therapeutic support plan and teaching staff how to meet the needs of the individual. You will also support in the development of trauma-informed care and DBT programming for the homes and offer individual and family therapy sessions as needed until youth are connected to long-term services in the community.

MORA provides an array of services: Adult Day Services, Contracted Case Management, Community Supports, over 30 Residential Homes, Respite, Therapeutic Recreation, Training for Guardians & Families, and a Discover Summer Daytime Programming for Youth with Disabilites. Our Metro Crisis Coordination Program (MCCP) offers a safety net of crucial and cost-effective services for adults and children.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with flexibillity to meet client needs

Salary Pay: $58,000      

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
 

  • Assist in the development of trauma informed care services and interventions to meet client needs 

  • Support the client in identifying their triggers and implementing coping strategies that allow them to stabilize and transition to a long-term living option. Educate clients on their mental health needs. 

  • Collaborate with team members to develop and implement the youth’s therapeutic support plan 

  • Maintain open communication with your coworkers and contribute to a healthy work environment by supporting each other in meeting the needs of the clients served.  

  • Completion of Diagnostic Assessments and other clinical assessments as appropriate 

  • Attend team and client meetings and share updates on clinical progress  

  • Assist in managing client mental health crisis by assessing for safety and risk and implementing interventions as necessary 

  • Provide short-term individual and family therapy services to youth that focus on stabilization  

  • Interact with emergency services personnel when necessary to ensure safety of clients 

  • Demonstrate an acceptance and respectfulness towards all people of any gender, race, age, culture, ethnicity, class, religion, disability and gender identity.  

  • Maintaining appropriate boundaries with clients at all time  

  • Work effectively with the clients identified supports (family, guardians, workers) to encourage communication and healthy relationships  

  • Lead DBT, CBT groups 

Required Qualifications:
 

  • Completion of a graduate level clinical program and working towards licensure (LGSW, LPCC, LMFT) 
  • Experience with youth in a residential, shelter or crisis program 

  • Must pass Department of Human Services background check and maintain “qualified” status. 

  • Must be able to successfully complete company’s physical job demands document 

  • If using own vehicle for company business, must have a current valid driver’s license and must have insurance as required by state law. 

  • Must be 21 years of age to serve children. 

  • Demonstrates mastery of basic computer skills.
