Development Associate - Chanhassen
Job Summary: Mount Olivet Rolling Acres (MORA) is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Development Associate to support our mission of empowering individuals with disabilities through high-quality residential and community-based services. This position works with the Director of Development to support MORA’s growing fundraising and donor engagement efforts. The Development Associate organizes records, processes, and acknowledges gifts in the donor database and prepares fundraising reports to ensure development goals are met.
Mount Olivet Rolling Acres – MORA – is a diverse and inclusive nonprofit that has supported adults, seniors and children with developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs as well as age-related and chronic medical conditions for over 50 years in the Twin Cities metro.
MORA provides an array of services: Adult Day Services, Contracted Case Management, Community Supports, over 30 Residential Homes, Respite, Therapeutic Recreation, Training for Guardians & Families, and a Discover Summer Daytime Programming for Youth with Disabilities. Our Metro Crisis Coordination Program (MCCP) offers a safety net of crucial and cost-effective services for adults and children.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
Hybrid position with 2-3 days/week required in the Chanhassen office
Hourly Base Rate: $23.25
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Donor Perfect Database Management
- Enters donations, in-kind donations, volunteer and contact information in database.
- Generates reports on individual, corporate and foundational giving from database.
- Responds to staff requests for data to support events, donation drives, etc.
- Ensures accurate information in database through imports from other platforms, etc.
- Fundraising Support
- Assist in planning and execution of fundraising campaigns, appeals and donor events.
- Researches, develops and maintains lists of new philanthropic prospects

- Manages in-kind donation program including: fielding requests, partnering with departments to assess needs, advertising/promoting and tracking.
- Donor Experience
- Strengthen donor retention/engagement by executing thoughtful and timely acknowledgments, maintaining detailed stewardship records and ensuring consistent updates to donor recognition systems and outreach efforts.
- Regularly refresh communications to online donor acknowledgement, thank-you letters and ongoing donor communication.
- Supports Director of Development in responding professionally and timely to donor inquiries and customer service requests.
- Fundraising Events
- Helps manage community-facing events including but not limited to MORA’s Annual Golf Scramble. Coordinate guest tracking and online bidding platform.
- Manage ticket sales, guest tracking and sponsor details for development events.
- Assist with volunteer engagement and event follow-up communications.
- Administrative & Team Support
- Provide administrative support to the Director of Development and team members.
- Track project timelines and ensure deadlines are met.
- Collaborate with the Development and Communications team on fundraising projects.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to strategic planning discussions.
- Oversees development email account.
- Take notes at meetings as requested.
- Other duties as assigned to support the Development and Communications departments.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Knowledge of I/DD or the disability community preferred
- 1-2 years of experience in nonprofits with marketing, fundraising or community relations.
- Excellent communication, organization, attention to detail and time management skills.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite and experience working in donor databases.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and leadership levels.
- Ability to prioritize, handle a variety of tasks and be self-directed.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Pass Department of Human Services background check and maintain “qualified” status.
- Have a current valid driver’s license and must have insurance as required by state law.
- Must not be excluded from working in government health programs by the Office of Inspector General
